We are a church, yes. That alone can evoke many emotions from people because so many have a “history” with church and religion. Some come from a past full of laws, condemnation and hurts. Yet in true fellowship with God -friendship with Him, we know that He gives fullness of life. Joy. Peace. We desire to walk in that fellowship and friendship with Him and have an authentic relationship with him, messy sides of us and all.
As a church, we seek to teach the Word so it comes alive, applicable, and welcoming people into the life-changing power of it. Our name reflects our purpose. We strive to run to, and draw from the Source of abundance, our continual supply, our wellspring. We desire to be grounded in the words of Jesus in John 10:10: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Our desire is for people to build significant genuine relationships, to grow as worshippers, and to become fully equipped to do the work of the Kingdom. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have been walking with God for years, you are welcome. We believe church should be a safe place for people to come encounter the source of Life. Join us!

Fresh from his theological education in California, our founding Pastor Ed Reynolds described himself as a “hippie who didn’t really belong in a church.” Through the mentorship of John Wimber, in 1986 he began Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Lansing and nutured it from the ground up. The Lord led him to create a place for those seeking to become more in the Lord. Some were new at figuring out who Jesus was, some wanted to grow in their walk and some were finding their way back to Him. We hold an open door to all.
For nearly 40 years the Vineyard Movement was a powerful part of our church history and it was a joy to grow with them during that time. However, God led the pastors and board to move in a new direction and in 2025, Wellspring Life Church was established out of the foundation that VCF set for us. Our passion for worship, connection, becoming more in Him, and the abundant life-changing power of Jesus is still the focus of who we are.
After years of worshipping in a handful of different locations, Vineyard Christian Fellowship settled on purchasing the land and the buildings we like to call “The Big Red Barn” in 1995. With over two acres and 20,000 square feet, it’s more than just an average building. After meeting in the upstairs for many years, extensive renovations were completed downstairs and the church moved to the main level. It is fully handicap accessible, has a commercial kitchen, children’s rooms and numerous spaces for groups. We have turned our building into a place that Wellspring Life {formerly Vineyard Christian Fellowship} calls home.
The upstairs now contains multiple small businesses and we also rent out numerous rooms and spaces perfect for open houses, showers, business meetings, holiday gatherings, receptions and events. Call (517) 333 -2600 if you would like to inquire about renting a space for an event.
If you’re interested in attending this Sunday’s service, we would love to have you.
